About Cara Freedman

Cara Freedman is an award-winning playwright, director, producer, and composer of numerous full-scale rock musicals for Jewish youth. Her innovative theater programs in San Diego have trained thousands of young actors and actresses over the past 20 years.

Cara's shows have been produced in major theaters, synagogues, summer camps, religious schools, Jewish and secular high schools, community centers, and drama clubs across the continent.

A recipient of National Cable Television’s prestigious Telly Award for her music video production in THE ROLE MODEL, Cara and her work have been featured on local and national television stations, radio programs, and in magazines. Her mini-musical, A SIGN UPON YOUR HAND, received special accolades on the national CBS show, 48 Hours.

Currently Cara is leading and teaching music at Congregation Ner Tamid, and Congregation Ohr Shalom. In the summer, she is surrounded by happy campers at the La Jolla Jewish Community Center Camp Jaycee.
